The McLean Group Promotes Josh Butler to Managing Director

​

McLean, Va. –  Monday, January 5, 2026 – The McLean Group, a leading middle-market investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions, announced today the promotion of Josh Butler to Managing Director within the firm’s Defense, Government & Intelligence (DGI) Practice.

Mr. Butler brings more than a decade of experience advising industry-leading companies on mergers and acquisitions, exit planning, and other strategic corporate transactions. He has advised founder-owned businesses, private equity-backed companies, and U.S. and international corporate divestitures across a broad range of technology and services sectors supporting government and commercial customers.
 
Since joining The McLean Group, Mr. Butler has played a leadership role in executing complex transactions and guiding clients through critical inflection points. His recent experience includes advising Rite Solutions on its acquisition by Arcfield, a portfolio company of Veritas Capital, advising FSI on its acquisition by BGIS, a portfolio company of CCMP, and advising Abyon on its acquisition by CoreCivic. In his expanded role, Mr. Butler will continue to support senior executives and shareholders as they navigate growth strategies, liquidity events, and value-maximizing outcomes.
 
Prior to joining The McLean Group, Mr. Butler held senior financial advisory roles at leading investment banks, including serving as a Director at Baird in Tysons Corner, Virginia, and as a Vice President at Barclays Capital in New York. He began his career at KPMG, where he worked as a corporate finance and audit manager in the firm’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices.
 
Mr. Butler graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Howard University and earned his M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a FINRA Registered Representative, holding Series 63, 79, and SIE licenses.
