We are pleased to meet with you, Ted. Could you please tell us a little bit about ISE?

ISE is a security consulting firm based in Baltimore, Maryland dedicated to aggressive
defense strategies through advanced science. We are most commonly recognized as being
the first company to hack the iPhone, and more recently for discovering the vulnerability
epidemic in routers. We work in several market verticals that possess high value digital
assets to protect, where companies hire us to harden their systems by attacking them with
the same methodology perpetrated by sophisticated adversaries.
Cyber security is constantly in the news. Are attacks becoming more frequent and/or more
serious?

Response:
Are attacks more frequent? Maybe. Data shows that the number of cyber attacks is
growing. However, recent years have shown a greater willingness by companies to disclose
attacks and data breaches. This greater transparency could be driving the statistical
increases, or it could be that attacks are on the rise.
Are the attacks more serious? Unequivocally ‘yes’ and for a number of reasons: today’s
adversaries are more sophisticated; the attacks are more evolved; assets are more valuable;
and companies are becoming primarily or completely dependent upon technology. Security
is no longer just an IT issue but now is a core business issue.
