MCLEAN, VA – May 9, 2011 – The McLean Group today announced that it acted as the exclusive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisor to Cam Communications, Inc. (CAMCOM), an operating subsidiary of Global Management Services, Inc. (GMSI), in its sale to MasTec, Inc. (NYSE: MTZ). The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cam Communications, Inc., a private company headquartered in Chantilly, VA, is a leading provider of engineering, furnishing and installation (EF&I) services to telecommunications enterprises throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and California. The company is a TL9000 certified engineering services firm and is designated by Verizon Communications as a primary “turf vendor” for several hundred of its central office locations.
The McLean Group’s Technology and Telecommunications practice team focused its efforts on potential strategic acquirers that would leverage CAMCOM’s EF&I expertise. As the major telecom carriers continue to seek efficiencies through strategic outsourcing, specialty firms such as CAMCOM are of particular value given their specialized and extensive relationships with the carriers.
“We are extremely pleased to join the MasTec team. As one of the leading specialty infrastructure contractors in the world, MasTec will enable us to better serve our customers as well as pursue growth opportunities in both broadband wireline and wireless telecommunications,” said Carlos Munoz, President of CAMCOM.
Hilton Augustine, Chairman of GMSI, also commented, “The McLean Group provided us an invaluable service. They did a thorough job exploring all our options and identified the best possible transaction for us. Their lead banker, Steve Mooney, not only brought industry expertise but also took the time to understand our objectives. He guided us through a complex transaction process that yielded optimal results for GMSI and CAMCOM.”
