Defense, Government & Intelligence recorded 66 transactions in the quarter, headlined by General Electric's $11.75B acquisition of Consolidated Precision Products and Lockheed Martin's $3.45B acquisition of Ultra Maritime, and Boeing won the Navy's F/A-XX fighter development contract, worth more than $20B initially. Physical & Cyber Security recorded 39 transactions, including Cyera's $1.0B acquisition of Oasis Security, and Critical Infrastructure recorded 21. On the macro side, the Fed raised rates 0.25% to 3.75%–4.00% on September 16, its first hike in more than three years, the 10-year Treasury yield passed 5%, and total public debt topped $40 trillion.
