Mark Bertler, Managing Director of The McLean Group’s Water, Wastewater & Environmental Practice Group, has represented numerous public and private firms in both advisory and principal roles on such issues as strategic management, corporate growth, financing, restructuring, and overall capitalization in the water and wastewater segment. For more than 25 years, he has held senior corporate executive positions with a number of Fortune 500 water and wastewater manufacturing and service companies with extensive experience in M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives both domestic and global. During his career, Mr. Bertler has served in the capacity of senior executive, investment banker and advisor on more than 20 successful sell and buy side M&A and capital engagements. Mr. Bertler holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a MBA from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Jeff Conn is a Director in The McLean Group’s Water, Wastewater & Environmental Services Group, which is part of the firm’s Critical Infrastructure Practice. Mr. Conn has nearly 20 years of industry experience and has completed nearly 40 sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions worth approximately $1 billion. Mr. Conn joined The McLean Group in 2006 and initially oversaw engagement support while providing operational and logistical support to the entire investment bank before focusing on the firm’s Critical Infrastructure Practice. He most recently advised on Integrated Water Services sale to Sciens Water Opportunities Group and Granite Equity Partners sale of its portfolio company, Aeration Industries International, to Newterra. Mr. Conn has worked across a range of industries in his career, including water infrastructure, environmental services, energy, government services, healthcare, veterinary services, travel and hospitality technology, and consumer franchising.
Prior to joining The McLean Group, Mr. Conn worked for FBR & Co. and CGI Federal (formerly American Management Systems). Mr. Conn earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary with a second major in Environmental Studies and an M.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma academic honor society.
