Reston government contractor ASRC Federal has struck its second deal in a month, this time acquiring a Manassas firm that provides information technology and cybersecurity services to federal defense and civilian agencies.

As ASRC Federal moves ahead with one large acquisition, it has completed a second more focused on areas of technology and related professional services to federal agencies.

ASRC Federal’s purchase of Broadleaf adds approximately 600 employees whose customer base includes the Army, Navy, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, and other civilian agencies. Terms of the transaction announced Monday were not disclosed.

The fast-growing cybersecurity firm SilverEdge Government Solutions is bringing another Northern Virginia government contractor into its fold.

SilverEdge, based in Columbia, Maryland, announced Monday that it has acquired Counter Threat Solutions LLC, a Reston firm that provides technology solutions to U.S. intelligence agencies.

SilverEdge Government Solutions has announced its second completed acquisition in as many weeks to continue that company’s push into technology areas of interest for intelligence agencies.

This latest purchase involves Counter Threat Solutions, a provider of counterintelligence analysis and identity intelligence services and solutions including those centered around the ServiceNow workflow software platform. Terms were not disclosed.

SilverEdge Government Solutions, a cybersecurity, software and intelligence services company serving the U.S. defense and intelligence communities and backed by Godspeed Capital Management, has bought Counter Threat Solutions, a provider of source and counterintelligence analysis, identity intelligence and enterprise IT and data management services.

With the acquisition of Groundswell, they have created a new mid-tier company of the same name that integrates their two previous deals and sets the stage for more.

In just over seven months, George Batsakis and Jerad Speigel have gone from an initial partnership and private equity backer to closing three acquisitions and creating a new middle market player.

With the third transaction announced Tuesday, they have changed the name of their company from CollabraLink to Groundswell.
